What is CatchUp.help?
CatchUp.help is an AI-powered livestream recap assistant. It watches your live streams on YouTube (full) and Twitch/Kick (beta) and generates AI summaries that viewers can request instantly in chat by typing !recap. Post-stream chapters are in development.
How does CatchUp.work?
CatchUp connects to your livestream from our servers, captures the audio in real-time, transcribes speech to text using Whisper AI or Deepgram, and generates summaries using a large language model. When a viewer types !recap, the summary is posted in your live chat.
What platforms are supported?
YouTube (full integration), Twitch (beta — adapters built), and Kick (beta — adapters built). Rumble is on the roadmap. More platforms are planned.
Does CatchUp affect my stream quality?
No. CatchUp connects to your livestream from our servers. It doesn't run on your computer, use your bandwidth, or interact with OBS. Your stream quality is completely unaffected.
How much does it cost?
Free tier: 10 hours/month. Creator: $9/month for 100 hours. Pro: $29/month for 300 hours. You only pay for actual livestream time — nothing is charged when you're offline.
Can I customize the recap command?
Yes. On Creator and Pro plans, you can change !recap to any command — !summary, !catchup, !whathappened, etc.
Can I use Nightbot instead of a CatchUp bot account?
Yes. On Creator and Pro plans, you can set your channel to Nightbot mode. CatchUp exposes a public API endpoint that Nightbot or StreamElements can query for recap text.
What are post-stream chapters?
After your stream ends, CatchUp analyzes the full transcript and generates timestamped chapters with descriptive titles (e.g., '05:23 Boss Strategy Discussion'). You can copy them into your video description or export as SRT, Markdown, or JSON.
How accurate are the recaps?
CatchUp uses Whisper AI for speech recognition and a large language model for summarization. It captures key topics, decisions, and events reliably. It may miss brief sidebar conversations or jokes.
What languages are supported?
Speech recognition works in 30+ languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese. On Pro, you can set the recap output language independently.
Is my data private?
CatchUp only processes audio from your public livestream. We don't store full transcripts — only the summaries posted to chat and chapter data. Your credentials are encrypted.
What happens when I exceed my monthly hours?
You'll be notified via email and in the dashboard. Your service continues for the rest of the month, and recaps resume at the start of the next billing cycle. You can upgrade anytime.
