1. Data We Collect

CatchUp.help processes audio from your public livestreams on connected platforms (YouTube, Twitch, Kick, Rumble). We capture audio only while your stream is live.

  • •Public stream audio — converted to text in real-time for recap generation
  • •Account information — email address, platform usernames, OAuth tokens (encrypted at rest)
  • •Usage data — hours monitored, recap counts, feature usage for billing and service improvement
  • •Chat messages — only the !recap command triggers are read; we do not store your full chat history

2. What We DON'T Store

  • ✕Full audio recordings — audio is processed in real-time and discarded immediately after transcription
  • ✕Full transcripts — only the generated recap summaries are stored, not raw transcripts
  • ✕Private video data — we never access your private videos, comments, analytics, or subscriber info
  • ✕Payment details — all payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your credit card numbers

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data exclusively to provide, maintain, and improve the CatchUp.help service:

  • •Generating real-time recaps and post-stream chapters
  • •Calculating monthly usage for billing
  • •Sending service notifications (usage limits, billing, feature updates)
  • •Improving speech recognition and summarization quality (anonymized, aggregated)

We never sell your data to third parties. We never share your stream content with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Third-Party Services

CatchUp.help uses the following third-party services to operate:

  • •OpenAI — Speech-to-text (Whisper API) and text summarization (GPT models). Audio is sent for transcription in real-time and not retained by OpenAI after processing.
  • •Stripe — Payment processing. CatchUp.help never accesses your full payment details.
  • •Google — OAuth authentication for YouTube channel connection.
  • •Cloudflare — Infrastructure hosting, DNS, and security.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

  • •All API communications use TLS 1.3 encryption
  • •OAuth tokens and credentials are encrypted at rest (AES-256)
  • •Audio data is discarded within seconds of processing
  • •Regular security audits and dependency updates

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR (EU/EEA), CCPA (California), or similar regulations:
